We’ve worked with many shoe retailers during the past ten years.

Based on our experience, we’re well qualified to rank the best shoe store online based on the level of service, selection of footwear, and shipping policies.

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Nordstrom is an American-based chain of department stores. Founded in 1901 by Swedish Americans John W. Nordstrom and Carl F. Wallin, the founding family still controls over 30% of the company.

The retailer also owns Nordstrom Rack, an off-price department store chain. HauteLook, a member-only shopping website offering flash sales, and Trunk Club, a personalized clothing service, have both been closed.

These are the three reasons why we think Nordstrom is the best shoe store in the United States:

1. Pricing Policies

Nordstrom is committed to offering you the best possible prices and will match the prices of U.S.-based stores and websites.

Through the company’s rewards program, The Nordy Club Rewards, you will also earn at least 1 point for every dollar spent. Most other shoe stores do not offer price matching.

2. Shoe Selection

At the time of writing, there were approximately 20,000 different styles available for kids, men, and women. If you have big feet, Nordstrom offers women’s shoes up to size 14+ and men’s shoes up to size 20+.

3. Shipping & Returns

In addition to free domestic shipping and in-store delivery, international shipping is offered through an international e-commerce partner. The company has no time limits for returns or exchanges. We don’t think anyone can beat Nordstrom’s liberal return policy!

In June 2020, many Nordstrom stores were still temporarily closed amid the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

On May 28, 2020, the retailer announced that it will permanently close 16 of the company’s 116 full-line stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Texas, and Puerto Rico.

Why Number 1?

While other shoe retailers have bigger selections, we love Nordstrom’s price guarantee, the rewards program, and the fantastic return policy.

Since Amazon, according to CNBC, was responsible for about 44 percent of all U.S. e-commerce sales in 2017, we also like that Nordstrom is independent of the Internet behemoth.

If you want to have options in the future about where to shop online, we suggest you stay away from Amazon when purchasing shoes.

As the world’s biggest shoe blog, please note that we at Your Next Shoes work with almost every reputable online shoe store in the world and get paid commissions for sales referred to them.

However, we were not compensated or requested by Nordstrom to publish this article. When buying shoes online, make sure you know how to stay safe.
