Maria Sharapova is indeed one beautiful lady. One look at her, and you basically forget that the blonde stunner is a professional tennis player. Her features, slim frame, and height are enough to pass her off as a Nordic runway model.

And although we mostly see her in tennis gear, the Russian beauty was actually spotted looking all glammed up while attending the WTA Tour Pre-Wimbledon Party last month.

Channeling minimalist chic, Sharapova graced the event in a stark Alexander McQueen dress—the clean lines paired perfectly with a satin clutch from the same designer, creating a cohesive statement. Black booties added an edgy touch, while a Lara Bohinc collar and cuff provided subtle, sculptural accents. A Tom McEwan ring and DDP earrings at Talisman completed the look with a touch of understated shimmer.

Her striking red mini dress with cut-out details on the shoulders highlighted her look with amazingly gorgeous gold accessories, the centerpiece being a gold statement necklace.

Below is an enlarged photo of that necklace for you. The gold piece is from Slovenian-born, London-based designer Lara Bohinc.

If you’re wondering whether this lovely choker is made of real gold, the answer would be a NO. The metal composition is brass, and the one on Maria is simply gold-plated, the same way the copper version below is plated with rose gold:

If you love the necklace but find it too pricey for your pocket, you can always look for other less expensive substitutes. Although, do understand that it will be hard for you to find the same thing.

We want to recommend this leaf fringe necklace from Theodora & Callum. It is also gold-plated and features gold leaf cutouts. What makes it a very attractive alternative is its price. Pair it with a red dress, and you’re all set!
