Last year, we saw a plethora of statement necklaces all over Tinseltown. A consumer poll revealed that in the fashion jewelry and accessories department, statement necklaces claimed the greater chunk of the pie in 2011.

This year, we predict the return of statement rings, as many of you have been hoping for! In the photo below, we can see celebrities such as Ciara, Kristen Stewart, and Paris Hilton wearing some cool playful rings to complete their 2012 MTV Movie Awards looks!

Kristen Stewart has always loved the rocker look. Even her makeup is usually on the smoky to Gothic side. Quilted leather jackets and skinny jeans are her choice of street wear. It was not a surprise then to find her wearing urban and edgy pieces accessories. Her extended ring was the Berbère rhodium-plated sterling silver link ring from Repossi, which costs $1,075 at Net-a-Porter.

Makers of fine jewelry have also embraced the trend. “The bigger, the better” seems to be the modern mantra of today’s haute designers, especially when it comes to statement jewelry. Socialite Paris Hilton includes that quite well in her ensembles.

When in doubt, wear no more accessories but the bling rings! Skip everything else and let your fingers do the talking! Whether in rugged jeans or dainty dresses, a statement ring or two (or three!) will never be out of place. You can wear a single ultra-sized ring whenever you feel too casual or underdressed. Adding that to your next outfit will make a big, big, big difference!
